Detailed graphite drawings using contrast, texture, and expressive shading to capture the form and character of each animal.

Much like postcards, miniatures offer an accessible way to collect and display artwork without the commitment of purchasing a larger original. They allow viewers to enjoy the essence of a piece in a more compact, approachable format while still maintaining the integrity of the original design. These smaller works make thoughtful keepsakes and affordable gifts, and their size makes them easy to display on desks, shelves, or in small frames. Even at a smaller size, the miniatures preserve the character, detail, and visual impact of the original drawing, making them both collectible and meaningful.

The Process
Miniatures of artwork are created by photographing or scanning original pieces at high resolution to preserve detail and texture. Images are then resized to fit miniature frame formats that complement the composition of each piece. This method works across nearly all artistic mediums, as drawings, paintings, and mixed-media works can be accurately reproduced at a smaller scale. Careful attention is given to how line, contrast, and proportions translate so each miniature remains visually clear and faithful to the original. The collection, titled Framed Pencil Minis 4" x 6" and 2" x 3", consists of 20 individual artwork pieces sold individually. It was created to offer a smaller-sized option for customers at art events, while also allowing many pieces from the Pencil Animal Collection to be framed and displayed together on a table, giving viewers a clear view of the range of work within the series.

Inspiration & Meaning
Miniature artwork offers a way for pieces to be enjoyed in more personal, everyday settings. Smaller framed works fit naturally on desks, shelves, and small spaces, and make easy, meaningful gifts. As collectible keepsakes, they allow people to connect with artwork in a spontaneous and affordable way, without the cost or space required for a larger original. These miniatures are meant to feel approachable and shareable, offering moments of visual interest that can spark a smile while extending the life and reach of the original artwork.
